| How much do you charge for a wedding ceremony? This depends on your location and needs. I typically charge on a 'per musician" basis. My services may also be included in a wedding package through some coordinators and/or venues.
What does a wedding ceremony include? A ceremony includes up to 30 minutes pre-wedding music and anything during the ceremony through the recessional. Anything beyond that (ie. cocktails, dinner, etc...) is charged on an hourly basis.
Will you play for the cocktail hour? Yes, upon request and availability. This would be an additional charge.
Do you perform at dinner parties and other events? Yes, at an hourly rate.
What types of music do you play? Mostly classical if you request solo violin or any string ensemble. Music you might hear in a fine restaurant (ie. Vivaldi, Mozart, Bach, etc.). The violin/guitar duo allows for more variety of classical, jazz and pop music.
Do you play solo or with other musicians? Both. Very often I play solo violin, but I regularly work with numerous other musicians and ensembles.
Can you accompany my vocalist/s during the ceremony? This may vary depending on the instrumental arrangement. Solo violin does not make for good accompaniment, but other instrument arrangements may work. For example, the violin/piano or violin/guitar may work for accompaniment because you can get a full, well balanced harmony from those arrangements. Even with the right instruments, it all depends on the song chosen and access to the music. For solo violin, I usually advise the use of recorded background music for vocalists.
How much do you charge for an ensemble? Ensembles are charged on a per musician basis. Some ensembles may have minimum requirements for booking.
Do you come to the rehearsal? No. Any questions regarding the ceremony can be answered prior to ceremony. I am available via phone or email to answer any questions leading up to the ceremony.
What do you wear? Standard = Black tuxedo with a black vest/tie, unless otherwise requested.
Will you play outside? Yes, provided there is a "plan B" in case of rain. Violins do not take well to water. Will you perform on the beach? Yes, weather permitting.
Will you travel? Yes, in most cases at no additional charge depending on time of day and mileage. Some locations may require a travel fee per musician.
What happens if you are sick and can't make the wedding? My contract gauruntees that your music would be taken care of, if not by me, by another qualified professional within Wehner Weddings. Otherwise, a full refund would be issued.
Do you require a deposit? Yes. Most contracts require a $100.00 non-refundable deposit which is deducted from the total balance.
Can I pay with a credit card? Yes, I accept credit cards, cash, or checks. You may also make payments using the PayPal link on my Home page.
Can I hear some samples of your music? Yes. You can hear samples of me playing and also set up your wedding music in the "Music Samples" portion of this website.
